Socialization skills are emphasized in the two year old classroom. Learning to share toys and play together are the goals set for the children. Artistic expression is developed through experimentation with art materials. Children discover textures and experience hands on learning with paint, glue, watercolors, crayons and three-dimensional junk art. Finger plays, songs and literature are introduced at circle time. Extends Half-Day Programs for an Extra Hour!
From 12-1pm New Discovery offers an extended hour for lunch called “Lunch Bunch”.
Parents who need to extend the 3-hour day to 4 hours will find this very helpful. Children enjoy staying for lunch- it provides an opportunity for conversation in a structured group setting. The environment is calm and supervised. Teacher interaction encourages socialization, good manners, and healthy eating habits. After lunch, children have some time for free-play.
Parents are asked to provide a nutrious lunch and beverage for their child.
