New Discovery Early Childhood Center Inc. was founded in 1983 in Kings
Park. We are located on the first floor of the Kings Park Central
School District's San Remo
Building. Although we are not affiliated with the school district,
we have developed a relationship of cooperation for the benefit of the children in our community and surrounding communities.
Our
classrooms are immaculate, spacious, air-conditioned, and age appropriately arranged and equipped.
Building maintenance is ably provided by the Kings
Park School District Maintenance
Staff. Maintenance staff are available during all hours of operation. Our large
outdoor playgrounds are fenced and offer a variety of equipment for all ages. We
also use the gym for monthly fitness classes and for bad-weather days. We are inspected regularly for fire safety, health standards, proper ratios between adults and children,
and appropriate equipment and room arrangement.
Required policies and procedures regarding staff and facility are monitored by the New York State Bureau of Early Childhood, local
fire officials, and the New York State Education Department.

The School Library
New Discovery Maintains a Library of over
650 children's books, in addition to all of the books the classrooms each maintain. These books are to support the teachers
in their efforts to provide a rich and varied program for the children. The Library collection also includes Books,
Cassettes, flannel board stories, filmstrips, records, CD's, Picture Files, and teacher resource books and periodicals.
Various forms of media are used by the teachers to nourish the young child's growing ability to communicate his or her thoughts
and feelings, and to develop the child's appreciation of reading as an important and pleasurable activity.
